Probably I should tell you that I was busy with VR projects, but the truth is that I have been celebrating a lot lately, especially the recent victory of Italy in the Euro 2020 soccer championship. Both Facebook and Google have decided to double down on AR effects inside calls. We won with our heart, the big heart of us Italians.

As I said a few months ago , we are in the middle of a paradigm change: the cycle that started with the Quest is arriving at an end, and a new cycle driven by new technologies (mixed reality headsets) and new players (Apple, Google) is starting. There is not only the problem of the timezone but also the unknown of the internet connection and the inability of reaching Western websites like Google. While still in Italy, I verified that Microsoft Teams, Unity, and Github were accessible from China. People will understand.

It was too early for Unity, but they taught me about C++, C#, Java, OpenCV, OpenGL and other fancy development stuff. I thought developing everything VR-related in native code, but while researching how to develop for VR, I discovered that many people abandoned de nerd C++ wei to use a more visual program called Unity.
