The report in particular talks about “design and displays” as areas where the review process will take place.

As a long-time AR enthusiast, and one of the first to have tried Google Glass in Italy, I have to admit that I will consider AR mainstream only when it will be on glasses that we will wear all day , when we’ll live in a completely shared mixed reality world (the AR Cloud). Magic Leap will meet its fate.

Apple is constantly improving its ARKit solution, adding always more features, and also Google is (slowly) updating ARCore. If they will prove to be successful, I can imagine also other brands entering the field , like Samsung (that until some years ago was interested in hybrid headsets) or some Chinese brands like Shadow Creator.

OMG, it’s almost 3 years that I write these roundups… the first week peek was exclusive for my blog subscribers and it featured as best news the release of Google Blocks and in the other news something about Samsung Gear VR… how much time has passed since then! Magic Leap raises other $350M. It would be very intriguing….

Representatives of the JianXi province and also the vice prime minister Liu He have visited the venue, and the Chinese Government has confirmed its strong interest in VR, that is seen as a strategic technology. And while China always moves chaotically, I think that the push of the government is helping its VR companies.
