OMG, it’s almost 3 years that I write these roundups… the first week peek was exclusive for my blog subscribers and it featured as best news the release of Google Blocks and in the other news something about Samsung Gear VR… how much time has passed since then! All the other major companies (Samsung, Huawei, etc…) are working on AR and Apple for sure can’t stop experimenting with if it doesn’t want to miss the next communication platform as Microsoft did with Windows Phone. A new job listing points out to the fact that Oculus is planning to integrate eye tracking in its next devices.

So, this may be what Oculus will make people try: Rift 2 : eye tracking , varifocal display, 140° FOV. I think the time has come… it is not possible that HTC is the only company offering something like that, and that is really loved by its custome r s. It will also feature new controllers.

You sat there and you talked to the person and it recorded your eye tracking, your hand motions, your head pose. It’s one thing to study what it’s like to give somebody a reprimand. I’m not at a desk studying. I think the only one that really has eye tracking is the HTC Vive Pro Eye.

The pictures only show one cow, while for a similar study many would be required. Furthermore, there is no university behind this research and no related scientific paper on this study. The result is a virtual avatar that looks incredibly realistic in his movements, since it has the eyes, the fingers and the whole body tracked.
