Samsung filed a trademark for 'Samsung Glasses' in the UK. It was filed by Samsung Electronics on August 21, and officially approved and registered on November 10. The XR Headset With Google? UploadVR independently confirmed that Samsung told developers it plans to launch in late 2024. Smart Glasses?

Quest will remain only as the hardware brand for Meta's first-party headsets. A headset "designed for exercise that's extra-light with sweat-wicking materials". Google Tried To Get Meta To Switch To Its XR OS Google reportedly asked Meta to partner and “contribute to” its upcoming XR operating system, but Meta said no.

In a reverse engineering exercise, two students at Utah State University have hacked positional tracking onto a Gear VR headset using SteamVR Tracking technology.
