Image by Magic Leap). Magic Leap is on sale. A report on Bloomberg informed us all that Magic Leap is exploring a sale of the company. The sales never skyrocketed and now Magic Leap is in desperate need of cash , after many layoffs, disappointing sales, and having put its IP as collaterals to a bank.

At GDC, HTC has announced that this great device will come for sure to the rest of the world and that this will happen “later this year” I know, this is not a very definite time, but it is better than nothing: before the GDC we weren’t even sure if it would ever come here. Magic Leap releases its SDK.

OK, I will be able give a more definite verdict after I actually get a hands-on demo first thing tomorrow, but in the meantime, here are our first impressions from having seen the live demos on the stage here at MWC Barcelona. Microsoft debuts their latest mixed reality device at Mobile World Conference 2019.

This could actually be quite beneficial for Meta, Microsoft, and Magic Leap. They continue to support and collaborate with outside companies, of course — you’ll probably be able to use Google Maps on the Vision Pro, for example — but I wouldn’t expect the competitive atmosphere to change much.
