Unreal Engine 5 may change the rules of game development. Out of nowhere, Epic Games has teased the next version of Unreal Engine, Unreal Engine 5, due to be released in 2021. Now, in what seems a desperate move to become relevant in a field dominated by Unity and Unreal Engine, it has made this engine opensource with the name Open 3D Engine.
