HTC is now selling certified refurbished Vive HMDs for $400. HTC has started selling again the OG Vive headset, but this time selling second-hand devices.

My interview earlier today was with the president of HTC VIVE, Alvin Wang Graylin, and one of the things that they announced last week at the VIVE conference is that they’re now doing eye tracking, and hand tracking, and lip tracking, and I think these are new — fairly new — technologies. I mean, we’re here to learn.
