Two days ago, I’ve given you my predictions for virtual reality in 2021 (read it, in case you missed it). Now it’s time to make some forecasts about its companion technology, that is augmented reality! This commercial video about Google Glasses led me to immersive realities.

Over the years i have seen a few lists of Top 50 XR Influencers, but the curators of those list always overlooked China/India/Asia's XR Industry. Just for Context the worlds current population is 7 Billion, India & China's Collective population is 2.7 a MIT spin-off with the aim of democratizing Mixed Reality into the masses.

Facebook could sell all its devices undercost now, subsidizing the cost of the hardware with software and data collection, so that to compete with brands like Samsung and XiaoMi. Let’s wait for March, 1st when we’ll have more details about this; AjnaLens is a set of glasses very similar to Nreal, that should come from India.

Finally after China and United States, also India has entered the AR race with the launch of the Jio AR glasses. While we have not even started using 5G, companies like Samsung (and Nokia) are already thinking about the next-generation 6G that could enable holograms and smart twins. According to Samsung, it should come in 2028.
