The AI or software that controls robots was also very expensive and specialized. Until now robots were too expensive to be used for general consumer uses. No distribution or business model existed to entice homeowners to afford a fairly expensive new machine. How many homes can afford to pay $50,000 for one? But it can’t fold laundry.
