Both the Goalie and Player versions of the system are sold as a complete package including an Oculus Quest 2, controller mounts for goalie gloves and hockey sticks, the Sense Arena software, and a case to store everything. These are all fused together into a frame by software and then 19 different AI systems go to work figuring out where drivable road surface is, where signs are, where pedestrians and bicyclists are, and much much more.

The AI or software that controls robots was also very expensive and specialized. At the heart is a simulator that lets AI teams train the system to do new things. Tesla AI and Its Simulator Advantage. That feeds a simulator that lets researchers “walk around” what looks like the real world. But it can’t fold laundry.
