According to a report from The Information , ByteDance subsidiary Pico Interactive is pulling the release of its next consumer-focused standalone headset in effort to no longer compete directly with Meta Quest, instead positioning its next device to compete with Apple’s $3,500 Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

Reports have revealed that Apple could potentially ramp up work on a pair of augmented reality (AR) smart glasses that could support the release of the company’s Vision Pro headset. With the proposed smart glasses, Apple fans may tether the devices to their iPhones similarly to others like its Watch and AirPods wearables.

This is huge because we know that Samsung is able to always deliver good hardware. So basically Samsung is bringing to XR what already happens on phones: Samsung makes the hardware, Qualcomm the chipset, and Google the operating system.
