Its strategy is more akin to wanting to be a second Apple than what Google did with Android. But Meta's strategy also harms its reported own long-term goal of being an Android-like player. The Meta Quest platform on the other hand is exclusive to Meta's own devices.

Slightly slower teams have been known to beat faster teams by using better teamwork and strategy. Software-wise, we use Unity, Vuforia, and OpenCV. The Vive Pro Eye just launched by HTC at CES (Image by HTC). Although we use Unity in-house for development, we don’t require it specifically.

The great news for Meta is that since it is a strong partner with Qualcomm, it will have exclusively the chipset for around 6 months, so competitors that use the same system can only arrive in 2024. not also available on Quest 2) until 2024. The main important news regarding games has been IMHO: The launch of Roblox on Quest Store.

I mean, it sort of makes more sense to me that, as long as the prices for the headsets are lingering up pretty high — like the Cosmos from HTC, the brand new one, it’ll be an $800 purchase.
