Apparently Black Friday and Cyber Monday have been good to Facebook this year, as Oculus Go has jumped far up the video games best sellers list on Amazon, beating out notable entries such as Nintendo Switch, Oculus Rift S, and Oculus Quest. Samsung starts off the month debuting its VR Internet browser for Gear VR, becoming the first to offer a VR browser. First, HTC delays the Vive until April 2016, with plans to show an updated developer kit at CES in January. At the end of the month, Oculus officially delays the release of Touch controllers until the last half of 2016.

To legally download movies on Quest you have to sideload the Android phone APKs of Netflix or Amazon Prime Video from your computer. For example, I was able to download Slack and Trello for work, Amazon Prime Video for watching movies I already own or have access to, and Steam Link to play my PC games on an enormous virtual screen.

I think the three-degrees-of-freedom [3Dof] sets — like the Go and the Samsung Gear VR before it — are very well-suited for video viewing, that sort of thing. A friend of mine, James, he went in a virtual reality crane training simulator, spent an hour in it. Then they took him outside, put him on a real crane.
