This also means that there is more contamination from the West and also from Japan, considering that this island was part of Japan various years ago. How is XR (and technology in general) in Taiwan? Generally speaking, Taiwanese technology adoption has not blown my mind. There’s a little more attention on quality.

These are all very positive news for VR: the technology is slowly getting adoption and while not mainstream yet, I agree with Zuck that in 1–2 years we’ll start getting there. The technology is amazing, but I think it’s too rough to be reliably used nowadays in gaming. It is going to be distributed in Japan starting from this month.

Most people know Xu due to his dispute with American virtual reality company Magic Leap. In June 2019, Magic Leap accused Xu of stealing AR glasses technology when he was an engineer working at the firm.
