We all joked about Samsung waiting for the Apple Vision Pro announcement to copy it, but according to some rumors, this is exactly what is happening. But having these new displays is a huge undertaking, and the production may only start later this year. Anyway, these are all rumors, so take them with a big grain of salt.

After a few days where we thought we were all living in a big oven, here in Italy we’re having the first taste of Autumn, with the temperatures going down and a lot of rain falling from the sky. Samsung can be the first partner also on this line of products. That’s fantastic news for all Unity XR developers!

The main one regards the 4 devices we were waiting for this year , which in our opinion should have changed everything: Quest 3, Apple Vision Pro, Google-Samsung Headset, and PSVR 2. The Unity Beta to develop for the Vision Pro is still not available, so many devs like me can’t even play with the emulator.

Coronavirus is back in Italy and from yesterday we’re having new restrictions like a night curfew, some kind of shops closed, etc… I hope that you and the people you love are safe. Stanford and Samsung create a super-high-resolution display. Simple WebXR” aims at bringing WebXR to Unity.

Samsung has also teased to be interested in releasing a new AR/VR standalone device. The only exception to this rule seems to be the Samsung Odyssey+, that offers features somewhat comparable to the ones of the Vive Pro, but costs only $500. Samsung will do the same. You just turn them on and they work. Mobile headsets.

Italy won the Tennis Davis Cup, and that was pretty cool to see (the match between Sinner and Djokovic was just incredible). This may be one of the potential names for either the upcoming mixed reality headset that Samsung is developing with Google or the name of future AR glasses. Will we meet there?

And when it entered a field, it has often dominated it: the Apple Watch is the most sold wearable, even if it came years after Samsung and other smartwatches brands. I have almost no friends here in Italy with Apple TV. Think about ARKit. But… dominating a sector doesn’t mean making it mainstream.
