So the next 2–3 weeks are going to be crazy for me, so sorry if I will make the comments on the newsletter a bit shorter than usual. On the personal side, I’m a bit devasted by the flood that happened in central Italy. Meta has silently ended support for Oculus Home on PC. That’s so sad.

These are pretty cool, also because the Snapdragon XR 2 is much more powerful than the 835 mounted by the Oculus Quest. Considering that this number doesn’t count the Quest users connected via Oculus Link, the actual number of VR users on Steam is even higher. Still no news on Oculus For Business program and Multiplayer SDK for Quest.

Oculus Quest 2 gets a huge update. Oculus has just started rolling out the update to the Quest runtime v23 , that introduces a lot of new features and improvements to this device: All the applications in the headset can now run at 90 Hz (including the passthrough vision); Oculus Link upgrades to 90Hz as well and finally exits from beta.

Coronavirus is back in Italy and from yesterday we’re having new restrictions like a night curfew, some kind of shops closed, etc… I hope that you and the people you love are safe. While Oculus is getting all the glory for the Quest, its competitors are not sleeping. Other relevant news.
