While many people online continue saying that “3DOF is not VR” or that “We don’t need 3DOF”, as a consultant I can tell you that there are sectors where it is still relevant: education, psychology, training, storytelling. Finally after China and United States, also India has entered the AR race with the launch of the Jio AR glasses.

This trend will continue in 2021 : the new LiDAR sensor, which is rumored to be installed in all future iPhones, will for sure be copied also by Android phones (Samsung?) NuEyes and Shadow Creator+Photon Lens should do something similar, while I guess that Rokid will focus more on China and Jio Glasses on India. Smartglasses.
