Starting on October 19th, Leap Motion and IndieCade are kicking off a six-week global competition for developers to build innovative experiences for desktop, virtual reality, and beyond. For the Select and Open 3D Jam first-place teams, $5,000 USD and up to $2,500 in travel costs to exhibit with Leap Motion at IndieCade East 2015.

Touchscreens, accelerometers, and a bevy of easy-to-use external controllers have given performers many options in how to control and shape sound and music. The impossibilities of VR are extremely exciting as anything in virtual space can be controlled by the performer and used to create sound and music.

What’s the role of hand controls in the game? The hand tracking is easier for non-gamers to pick up than controllers or mouse and keyboard.
