Based in Los Angeles, California and Seoul, South Korea, the immersive firm has listed on its website several new rock and K-pop bands set to boost adoption of VR entertainment.

The CEO of the leading virtual reality (VR) firm first caught the ire of the FTC when Meta attempted to purchase immersive fitness application developers Within for $440 million in 2021. In the US District Court for the Northern District of California, the FTC argued that Meta’s purchase of Within was breaching anticompetitive conduct.

Yes, this one has passthrough, 4K screens, etc… but still, it’s a very old and very not-immersive use case. You can look at something while you have your headset on, record it as a 3D recording, and then re-watch it in an “immersive” way later, whenever you want. So it’s a good use case, but nothing new.

At the time, the FTC urged the US District Court for the Northern District of California to halt the transaction. The FTC said the purchase dampens future XR innovation and competitive rivalry.
