In my unboxing video, you may see that I’ve found an additional Leap Motion v1 controller + Leap Motion mount for RealMax + USB-C cable for Leap Motion. It gets the job done and it is usable, but it is subpar even if compared to other standalone headsets on the market like the Oculus Quest.

This would have happened on May 2019, in the same period when Apple’s senior manager of prototype development Avi Bar-Zeev left the company. Oculus is working on 2nd gen VR. Mark Zuckerberg told that Oculus Quest closed the first generation of VR and so Oculus is now working on its second generation. Other relevant news.

RealMax's AR and VR device with hand tracking by Leap Motion and an epic 102-degree field of view, was used for a multiplayer AR game which involved grabbing fish and knocking over boxes. AWE is a snapshot of a developing industry, though it does not have participation from major players with developer conferences of their own.

Besides that, it is also hiring key figures to make this AR dream a reality : the operating system project will be supervised by Mark Lucovsky, a former Microsoft engineer who co-developed Windows NT. Oculus releases hands tracking SDK, official Link cable for Quest and more. Other relevant news.

This signs seems to say: 2019 World Conference on NO VR INDUSTRY. And there are booths of many important companies : Lenovo, Microsoft, HP, Huawei, GoPro, etc… so this event has cool stuff to showcase. One of the AR devices that I wanted to try out since the moment I talked about it on my post about CES 2019 is RealMax.

I think that Gartner was not referring to the consumer market, where VR is still unripe (even if devices like the Oculus Quest and the Vive Focus Plus are helping it in becoming more widespread), but at the B2B one, where VR is already helping companies to spare money (e.g. Gartner Hype Cycle 2019.
