This number pales in comparison with the 2 million units that Sony prepared for launch according to a previous report always by Bloomberg. Imagining that Sony could sell 2 million PSVR 2 in just one month seems to me a bit irrealistic, especially at that price and with the present economic conditions.

First of all, Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki has said that he thinks that PSVR 2 may sell more than the 5–6 million units that the original PSVR sold. This shows that Sony is pretty bullish about its device, and it is confident that it will be appreciated by a good share of its base market. This is great news for VR in general.

In total, I counted something like 32 games, which is ok to start with, but then Sony should be fast in collecting more content to not make the PSVR2 players get bored fast for the lack of playable games. But still, the fact that all the PSVR 1 content won’t be available for the new headset gives Sony a good challenge on the content side.

Apple wants to reduce the price of the display by a 50% factor and is also trying to have other suppliers of displays beyond Sony (e.g. Please donate to the Red Cross to handle the current humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
