Spatial Hits Big at GDC 2023 In March, at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2023 in San Francisco, Spatial announced the platform’s new Unity Creator Toolkit is entering its beta stages. For example, Spatial’s Unity Creator Toolkit beta model powered the 2023 Metaverse Fashion Week on Spatial between 28 to 31 March.

First of all, Google has to keep the work on the headset very secret also internally , because Samsung is afraid that Google will steal its expertise to build a competing product. Samsung can be the first partner also on this line of products. That’s fantastic news for all Unity XR developers!

The main one regards the 4 devices we were waiting for this year , which in our opinion should have changed everything: Quest 3, Apple Vision Pro, Google-Samsung Headset, and PSVR 2. The Unity Beta to develop for the Vision Pro is still not available, so many devs like me can’t even play with the emulator.

My impression is that in the best case, this Deca is the new Pimax, a company with great ambitions, a good spirit, but no idea on how to execute, and this will lead to delays, confusion in the logistics, higher prices than expected, etc… And this is just the best case. Sony has answered this question in the weekend.

Instagram has a very popular creation tool called SparkAR , which can be easily used by all creators without knowing how to code, and has seen a spike in usage in 2020. This trend will continue in 2021 : the new LiDAR sensor, which is rumored to be installed in all future iPhones, will for sure be copied also by Android phones (Samsung?)
