I thought it would have taken me a lot before I would be able to try the Magic Leap One , but luckily this has not been the case. It was a nice ride, and now Gianni, that is an amazing developer, is working in a big company and I’ve started a new adventure in trying to establish a consultancy agency called New Technology Walkers.

AWE day two started off with back-to-back keynotes from mixed reality display maker Magic Leap and AR commerce solution Avataar. A Look at the Magic Leap 2. Magic Leap’s Head of Product Management, Jade Meskill, presented “Magic Leap 2 and the Augmented Enterprise.”

According to the demo video (linked below), the unnamed “R&D prototype” looks to include both 6DOF head-tracking as well as hand-tracking, and appear to be a standalone unit similar to Microsoft HoloLens. And yes, they’re shooting proton energy from their hands.

Some months ago, Qualcomm had announced its XR2 chipset, which should be the beating heart of all the upcoming AR and VR headsets based on Qualcomm technology. Anyway, the announcement regarded only the chipset and not also a reference design, so it was a good teaser, but the technology was not applicable to real headsets yet.

Triton works with Leap Motion (now Ultra Leap) hands tracking. Originally I was going to make a standalone device which hooked everything up to a Nvidia Jetson Nano that could be worn on your belt (think Magic Leap One). Can you tell us about the UX experiments that you have done for AR?
