If I had known people could like it, I would have not made it in 5 minutes with Microsoft Word, lol. Facebook Reality Labs creates a group focused on working on the “metaverse”. The leader of the group will be Vishal Shah, Instagram VP of Product, that will report directly to Andrew Bosworth. In Japan, the number is around 80K.

The startup is pretty new, in fact, and its owner group is Megadodo, another unknown company that is working on an MMO game about which is difficult to find any information. While Oculus is getting all the glory for the Quest, its competitors are not sleeping. Notwithstanding all this hate, the Oculus Quest 2 is selling very well.

HP has fixed many of the visual problems of the headse t, and Microsoft has just released a patch on Windows 10 that aims at solving many visual issues of all WMR headsets (like Chromatic aberration). But honestly, I expected a bit more … it’s a bit weird that Microsoft hasn’t solved its biggest pain point yet. Other relevant news.

And all of this comes in a period when other partnerships between tech giants are happening: remember that some weeks ago, Microsoft closed its streaming service Mixer and allied with Facebook Gaming to fight the quasi-monopoly of (Amazon-owned) Twitch. Linden Research a.k.a. Linden Labs is in the process of being acquired.

While the first version was an all-in-one with diffractive waveguides like Microsoft HoloLens, the new one is an all-in-two light device that connects to your smartphone and uses birdbath optics. Oculus Link gets updated to 90Hz. After one year from the release of the Link , Oculus finally puts it out of beta with a big update.
