Coronavirus is back in Italy and from yesterday we’re having new restrictions like a night curfew, some kind of shops closed, etc… I hope that you and the people you love are safe. A new FCC listing appears for an HTC Vive headset. And in fact, a new request to FCC for a new device has arrived from HTC. But I can speculate.

I’m back in Italy, and finally, I can eat again some good pasta… even if I will miss ?? HTC keeps updating the Vive Cosmos. It seems that HTC has taken the critics on the Vive Cosmos very seriously and it is now updating the runtime of the device every week. Grove wants to take support groups to VR.

It’s hot and the drought is creating some issues here in northern Italy. This is a free association headed by Khronos Group, the consortium behind the OpenXR standard, which aims at creating standards for the future metaverse. The Khronos Group already succeeded with OpenXR, so it has a good track in helping in creating standards.

Don’t misunderstand me: I’m a huge fan of passthrough mixed reality , and I’ve always bragged about being among the first group of people who experimented with it on the first generation of standalone headsets (to be exact, on the Vive Focus Plus, in 2019). If you add VAT, in Italy it will cost €600.

It’s a sunny lockdown day here in Italy, the sun is shining and the trees are blossoming. If we exclude the major tech companies (Facebook, Valve, etc…) and the meteor Magic Leap, this is the first VR company to reach this status, and this is another sign of the health of the virtual reality ecosystem.
