Apple Vision Pro vs Meta Quest Pro: The Specs The first thing I should note is that while Apple defines the Vision Pro as a “ spatial computing system ”, it is essentially a mixed-reality headset, just like the Meta Quest Pro. ZEISS optical inserts will cost between $99 and $149. Plus, there’s eye-tracking to enable foveated rendering.

Talking about the optics system of the Vision Pro, there are still many unknowns about the ZEISS prescription lenses associated with the device. This is because the lenses may affect the detection of the OpticID and the performance of eye tracking.

We know the product will contain 12 cameras, six microphones, and five hand, eye, and voice tracking sensors. The headset will also have a ring of LED lights to assist with eye-tracking performance. This is why Apple has partnered with Zeiss to create custom optical inserts to replace glasses for users.

Apple has also unveiled that the ZEISS Optical Inserts will be available in two types: Readers, priced at $99, and Prescription, available for $149. The headset (that you see in the above picture) is quite slick and features pancake lenses, eye tracking by Tobii, integrated audio, and Wi-Fi 6/6E/7.

The use of eye, hand, and voice interactions make the interface with the headset natural and easy to be learned. The genius part has been mixing eye tracking with hand micro-gestures. We have not seen much about this headset, but the basic interactions seem made the right way.
