Small startups can’t compete with big companies, so usually, startups produce expensive headsets at a smaller scale to survive : see VRgineers or Varjo as an example. At WCVRI, China shows its strategic interest for VR. And while China always moves chaotically, I think that the push of the government is helping its VR companies.

According to John Carmack , Oculus CTO noted that the Oculus Go will perform "significantly better" than the Samsung Gear. Oculus has also partnered with Xioami to create an Oculus Go version for China coined the “Mi VR Standalone” that looks almost identical to the Go. Rendered mind spaces where the only limit is your imagination.

This trend will continue in 2021 : the new LiDAR sensor, which is rumored to be installed in all future iPhones, will for sure be copied also by Android phones (Samsung?) NuEyes and Shadow Creator+Photon Lens should do something similar, while I guess that Rokid will focus more on China and Jio Glasses on India.

Qualcomm has officially said that this is the chipset that the upcoming Samsung headset is going to employ.
