It is that time of the year when I make predictions about the upcoming Oculus/Facebook/Meta Connect, the main event of the year for Oculus/Facebook/Meta since a lot of time. But not any kind of announcements, because we already know that the budget cuts pushed the launch of AR glasses to something like 2026.

A few weeks after I officially entered VR, the technology started being overhyped after Facebook’s acquisition of Oculus. After 2019, we had companies wo managed to survive just by doing virtual reality , and the enthusiasm started growing again, together with investments from VCs. There was a lot of enthusiasm and hope.

It lacks all Oculus Exclusive titles like Beat Saber and Population One, but its store is becoming anyway interesting. The next versions of the glasses are expected for 2026 and 2028.
