To get there, I had to ask for information to people that was not able to speak English… it has been funny. You can see a short video of this historical moment here below. I tried 3 demos within that: one was a very high-resolution 360 video that let me feel on the top of a high skyscraper.

Facebook has acquired Ctrl+Labs some years ago, and now it is using its expertise to create a wristband that can sense the motion information that your brain is sending to your hands. Volu lets you take volumetric videos with your smartphone. Vive Facial Tracker works also with non-HTC headsets. The mystery continues….

HP and Microsoft have a long track in offering enterprise hardware, so this headset may battle HTC on his own land (B2B). 1” is not the new name of a son of Elon Musk, but it is the (questionable) name of a new opensource AR headset by Combine Reality, based on Leap Motion’s North Star reference design. This means having AR and VR on the same device ; Feature a 5G modem ; Play 8K videos at 60fps; Have accelerated AI so that to be able to perform objects recognition and other cool stuff on the camera feed. HTC won’t announce anything big at CES. For the first time after 3 years, HTC won’t host a press conference at CES 2020.

We asked for help to our technical partner HTC Vive, that provided us a girl, Starry, that did this as a part-time job to earn some money while she studied at University.

Then, The Information has reported a similar rumor, but talking about other glasses, codenamed Stella , that should be similar to Snap’s Spectacles and be released much sooner than 2023 (it could be the 1st generation of devices created by this partnership).
