Focused, acute pulses simulate sharp points; broader, more distributed ones can simulate sensations like dipping into water. The first hardware generation attempting to solve the body feedback problem will likely use full bodysuits with haptic responses aligned to the VR experience. Weight is tougher to simulate in VR.

HP and Microsoft have a long track in offering enterprise hardware, so this headset may battle HTC on his own land (B2B). HTC already has its own software platform (Viveport) and SDK (Wave) that shares with other manufacturers in China, and now also shares hardware designs. As a developer, I’m amazed.

Most probably there won’t be hardware releases (Oculus has just launched the Rift S and the Quest ) but just teases of new devices of the future and a lot of new software releases and showcases (like the one about the game that is being developed by Respawn). This Area 51 VR simulator shows you what the US government is hiding to us!

Considering that Quest has sold at least 3M units now, this means more than $300M of losses from the hardware sales for Facebook. Microsoft confirms (again) it wants to build consumer HoloLens. Huawei is a very important hardware company and its glasses have a very sleek design, so I think it’s very important to keep an eye on them!
