The SDK will support eye-tracked foveation and fixed foveation (like the one of Oculus Go); The Vive Focus will soon have finger tracking : for every hand, you will be able to have something similar to what Leap Motion offers.

It seems cool, but I would like to try it to believe in it: all the times that someone promised me some kind of sensory magic, it never turned out so good as they told me (like with the phantom touch sensation that Leap Motion told me about ). One month ago, I’ve participated in the Stereopsia event in Bruxelles (Belgium) to perform a talk about how to organize an event in virtual reality. A very nice idea , mixing the art of the past with the technology of the present. Miguel has also now a new company, called Eyedak, working as well on immersive technologies.

The best news of the week has not been the release of a new fantastic VR headset or AR glass, but of a technology that will make a new generation of XR headsets possible: I’m talking about the XR2 chipset by Qualcomm.
