Australian Prehistoric Exhibit Fuses VR and Puppets

Puppets and virtual reality resurrect the dinosaurs. A new exhibit in Australia transports you to the continent’s prehistoric past through puppets and virtual reality. The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) commissioned the exhibit, Prehistoric VR , from puppeteers Erth Visual & Physical Inc. and filmmaker Samantha Lang to create the first ever experience that combines VR and puppetry.

Meta 2 Adds Initial SteamVR Support, Soon to Work With Vive Controllers

The Meta 2 AR headset SDK now supports SteamVR, making it easy for developers who have built SteamVR applications to add support for the headset. With support for the Vive, Rift, and soon the Windows VR headsets , it seems that SteamVR is slowly becoming the multi-headset hub that Valve originally envisioned. Thanks to Valve’s OpenVR API, the Meta 2 AR headset has now also added initial support for SteamVR to version 2.3 of their SDK.
