Today during Magic Leap’s developer livestream the company offered the first details on the compute hardware that’s built into the device, confirming that an NVIDIA CPU/GPU module, and also showed a brief developer sample demonstrating world meshing and gesture input.

The company opened its 13th venue in New York City just last month, joining additional locations in Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Denver, DC, Rancho Cucamonga, and San Antonio. Recently they have even jumped into brick and mortar by acquiring Whole Foods. Well, Amazon is finally placing its hat into the kooky world of VR and AR with its new development platform.

Reception by consumers for its $2,300 AR headset was lukewarm, and messaging didn’t seem focused enough to give either developers or consumers hope that a more accessible bit of ML hardware was yet to come.
