Quest hand tracking is perfect for slower experiences with light interaction. During Oculus Connect 6 in San Jose, CA, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled that the Oculus Quest would allow for hand and finger tracking without the need of any hand controllers, and of course, I couldn’t wait to try it.

You can finally buy the Leap Motion v2 accessory. The time for us XR developers to buy a Leap Motion 2 has finally come. Leap Motion 1 has been used by almost every developer and researcher , both in VR and not. Yes, the price is higher than the cheap Leap Motion 1, but this is also a far better device.

The headset should also provide hand tracking, eye tracking and reverse passthrough , so people should be able to see the eye of the wearer. Of course, this theory has its problems, too: TVs can be watched by many people together… but spending 12,000$ to make a family of 4 people watch TV together seems a bit too much.

On the contrary, Microsoft has worked a lot on the platform, to make it more appealing to enterprise customers. It has released experiences like Microsoft Remote Assist, that let different teams in a company work together to solve maintenance problems. Leap Motion. You may ask why I’m adding Leap Motion here.

In my unboxing video, you may see that I’ve found an additional Leap Motion v1 controller + Leap Motion mount for RealMax + USB-C cable for Leap Motion. Since having a 3DOF controller with a 6DOF headset is weird (HTC and Lenovo know this well), RealMax has decided to add also support for Leap Motion.

Let me tell you my first hands-on impressions on it! Project North Star is an opensource reference design for a wide-FOV augmented reality headset that Leap Motion (now Ultraleap ) has given to the community. The hand tracking was fabulous as always thanks to Leap Motion and its Orion tracking.

This is of course not required for the Secure edition It is possible to add Ultraleap hand tracking for +499€. Of course, a more accurate test would be having the headset for at least 1 hour of consecutive play time, but let’s say that at least the first impressions were good in this sense.
