Sony invests $250M in Epic Games. Sony has announced that it has made a big investment of $250M in Epic Games through one of its subsidiaries. The investment gives Sony a minority stake in Epic that now is evaluated at more than $17B. And Sony for sure wants to have a stake in the metaverse. Top news of the week.

The device is smaller than the Quest 2, is whiteish, and presents on its front face three pill-shaped black spots. But the thing that surprised me the most in Gurman’s description is the controllers. Together with the games, Sony Interactive Entertainment also announced some Bluetooth earbuds for PS5.

PlayStation VR has been the most successful headset until now (if we exclude the crappy mobile viewers), but now it is pretty dated and people were wondering what Sony was going to do. Some people started to think that Sony could have abandoned VR.

Also, new more ergonomic controllers, that solve the flaws of the current design, will be part of the package. These controllers should be compatible with the current Quest. Unreal Engine 4.25 update, Unreal Engine has added many features that may be useful in crafting XR experiences. Mechanical IPD is confirmed.

One of my favorite games of all times is Unreal Tournament because I just love to shoot and kill without thinking too much… or better, without thinking AT ALL. Playing with it is great, it is a bit like playing Unreal Tournament. Space Junkies is… well, I love it. Space Junkies is like that.
