I’m still writing from China, and this week I spent the Chinese New Year here… it was an interesting experience, and if you lost my funny story about it, you can still have a look at it in my dedicated post. Plus Microsoft stated that Mesh will be initially used to build enterprise applications , and then maybe one day again consumer ones.

You can access it at this link: [link] ) Top news of the week (Image by Microsoft) Microsoft kills Windows Mixed Reality Microsoft has decided to pull the plug on the Windows Mixed Reality platform , the one of the WMR headsets by Acer, Asus, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung which were the first to introduce inside-out tracking in the VR ecosystem.

Yesterday was Chinese Lanterns’ Festival… my best wishes to you all, especially a big hug to all people that are still in China and are living very hard times… ??! It is being very useful to let indie distribute little games and innovative experiences (like the ones employing hands tracking ) to Quest users.

The only company not much affected by it is HTC, that manufacturers its headsets in Taiwan and not in Mainland China. On the software side, HTC has just launched in China Vive Sync , a solution for remote meetings in VR that may help a lot the Chinese people that are forced to work from home. My favorite from this week?

Image by Sony). Sony believes in VR, and we definitely believe at some point in the future, VR will represent a meaningful component of interactive entertainment. So, PSVR2 probably won’t launch before 2022 : Sony can afford that also because it has no competition in the console VR space , so there is no need to rush.

Sony Electronics Head of Business Development, Thaisa Yamamura, presented the Auggie Award for Best Art or Film. Yamamura also presented the winner with a Sony Spatial Reality Display, a “glasses-free 3D display that will improve their workflow.” Alvin Graylin, HTC China President, presented the Auggie for Best Head-Worn Device.
