Augmented Reality in 2018. You may hate or love Magic Leap, but the fact that it has released a product is for sure a great news for all the ecosystem : if after all those investments, that startup failed, it would have had a ripple effect on all the ecosystem, making investors lose trust in augmented reality.

You can finally buy the Leap Motion v2 accessory. The time for us XR developers to buy a Leap Motion 2 has finally come. Leap Motion 1 has been used by almost every developer and researcher , both in VR and not. Yes, the price is higher than the cheap Leap Motion 1, but this is also a far better device.

If the report were true, this would mean that Apple doesn’t believe in AR anymore and this would be terrible news for all the immersive realities ecosystem. Apple is clearly committed in augmented reality, and the recent release of ARKit 3 proves that. Microsoft is launching in two weeks a private beta for iOS users.

It seems cool, but I would like to try it to believe in it: all the times that someone promised me some kind of sensory magic, it never turned out so good as they told me (like with the phantom touch sensation that Leap Motion told me about ). And there are booths of many important companies : Lenovo, Microsoft, HP, Huawei, GoPro, etc… so this event has cool stuff to showcase. Markers can be used to define where to show virtual elements, and in the demo that I tried were used to show virtual Chinese artworks in a room; Leap Motion device on Realmax glasses.
