The report talks about Samsung wanting to target the $1000–2000 range, which in my opinion risks being neither expensive nor affordable.

Apple glasses are coming in 2021–2022 and they are incredibly sleek. Apple glasses are coming. The glasses are expected to run a new operating system, rOS (or reality OS), and Apple is exploring touch panels, voice activation, and head gestures as a means of control. Apple is really good at selling stuff.

This week in XR hasn’t had any explosive news, but it was interesting nonetheless: in particular we had cool info on AR glasses, with some news from Kura, Lynx, and Samsung. And it also makes me super-happy that no one is about Facebook and Apple… I was getting pretty bored in writing newsletters only about these two companies!

Apple finally talks about VR while taking a (very solid) swing at AR, Walmart will use virtual reality to train employees, you can grow better weed with AR + AI, and Q1 VR headset sales…. APPLE ACTUALLY TALKS ABOUT VR. APPLE TAKES A (VERY SOLID) SWING AT AUGMENTED REALITY. However… we’re still waiting for those apple AR glasses.

It wants to create an ecosystem , where most probably all the devices can work together (like it happens today with Apple devices); The report also claims that Facebook may be building its own operating system to encompass all these devices. Then it could update them very fast and make them as powerful and successful as the Oculus Quest.

Oculus has teased the OC6. Oculus has just announced the dates for the Oculus Connect 6. Oculus is going to announce something not only about VR but also about AR. While Oculus is getting all the glory for the Quest, its competitors are not sleeping. Huawei has upgraded its sleek VR glasses and now they support 6DOF movement and 6DOF controllers that are very similar to the Oculus Touch. Notwithstanding all this hate, the Oculus Quest 2 is selling very well. Other relevant news.
