Apple has barely mentioned augmented or virtual reality in its big keynotes lately, however at WWDC 2022 earlier this month, the company quietly released probably one of the best 3D room-mapping tools for mobile AR yet. Follow along as I do a series of structured @Apple RoomPlan tests and share my findings/notes in this thread.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg got a chance to try out Apple Vision Pro, which although seven times more expensive than the company’s Quest 3 mixed reality headset, is arguably its biggest competitor right now—at least in terms of mental real estate it’s taking up. And yeah, in mobile, Apple’s closed model won.

Apple announced that Vision Pro-native versions of two popular iOS games are coming to Apple Arcade next month, Crossy Road Castle and Solitaire Stories , both of which put an immersive spin on inherently flatscreen gameplay. The UI floats above makes full use of the free real estate too. Collect Everything.

Apple is working on some sort of metaverse, and its headset is entering mass production. It has been a week of interesting rumors about the upcoming Apple MR headset. So, forget about an Apple headset that is going to enter the mainstream , as I already sold in this previous article. Other relevant news.
