Per se, this is not a surprising news (all companies are working on next iterations of their devices), but what is surprising is the timing that the report suggests: a new Oculus Quest should have been announced at the end of 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will come in 2021. Or eye tracking?).

Apple Glasses may release in 2021 for $499. In a Youtube video, he revealed some juicy details, like: The cost of the glasses is $499 + prescription lenses; They are connected to the iPhone, that does all the heavy lifting; They were planned for a “one more thing” announcement for Q4 2020- Q1 2021 , and for release one year later.

This means that probably we’ll need to wait at least for CES 2021 or 2022 to see again something that will truly amaze us. As for the partnerships, the most intriguing one is the one with my friends at 7Invensun , one of the worldwide leading companies in eye-tracking technologies. We’ll wait.

The Quest 2 is quite powerful and so Facebook has confirmed tha t in 2021 there won’t be the need for a Quest 2 Pro as some people were supposing. NVIDIA doubles down on Cloud Rendering and Omniverse at GTC 2021. On the client side, the system will become compatible with iOS devices, and a Magic Leap client has also been developed.
