Yesterday, I have dressed as a fortune teller and I have given you my predictions for augmented reality in 2019. And how it will be in 2019? Mister President launching the Vive Focus (Image by HTC). Samsung has also teased to be interested in releasing a new AR/VR standalone device. It’s 2019.

The main one regards the 4 devices we were waiting for this year , which in our opinion should have changed everything: Quest 3, Apple Vision Pro, Google-Samsung Headset, and PSVR 2. The Unity Beta to develop for the Vision Pro is still not available, so many devs like me can’t even play with the emulator.

So, here we are, entering 2019 with me fulfilling my promise to Lenovo and closing this series of “should you buy it?” ” review of standalone headsets (you can find in other posts the ones related to Oculus Go and HTC Vive Focus ). it is bigger than the Oculus Go but smaller than the massive HTC Vive Focus.

The Valve Index is for sure the big surprise for virtual reality in this 2019. But this time, Valve has made it without the collaboration of HTC. The specs list is very similar to the one of the HTC Vive Pro. I tried it in Beijing at HTC offices and I was amazed by this possibility. Is the Index the Vive 2?
