Oculus Touch controllers were just announced to ship late in 2016. Xbox gamepads shipped with the Oculus Rift headset. Though Oculus Rift no longer comes bundled with an Xbox controller, there are still titles being made that are compatible with gamepads across Steam, Oculus Store, and the Playstation Store.

All the other major companies (Samsung, Huawei, etc…) are working on AR and Apple for sure can’t stop experimenting with if it doesn’t want to miss the next communication platform as Microsoft did with Windows Phone. Oculus is working on 2nd gen VR. We don’t know what Oculus will present, but we have some hints.

Right now we’re stuck thinking in terms of head-mounted displays (HMDs), like the Vive or the Oculus. Maybe it’s a dedicated VR computer to start, but more likely it becomes mobile hardware, given Moore’s Law and the current trend toward everything mobile. The visual input is the most important piece of the VR setup.
