And while this is anyway a good result for a startup (developing an AR headsets means spending billions in R&D), targeting the consumer market has been a suicide move , that let Microsoft get full control of the profitable enterprise market. Google MediaPipe can now track 3D objects. This is astonishing.

When you buy a headset like Oculus Quest, it is meant for consumer usage, and theoretically speaking, you can’t use for commercial purposes (exhibitions, training applications, VR cinemas, etc…). Customers don’t have to go through the Oculus Home interface, look for sideloaded apps menu to launch the training app.

One of the surprise hits from the IAAPA show — to go back to that — was a company called UNIS out of Taiwan, I think they’re based, they had a two player motorcycle VR simulator and it was a track racing motorcycle game. Alan: Big military simulation training. Alan: It was wonderful. I crashed it, dramatically.
