We already know that Google, Samsung, and Qualcomm are working on a competitor of the Vision Pro, which should be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR Gen2+ and cost around $2000. So at the beginning of next year, we may have huge players like Apple, Google, and Meta battling for the high-end XR sector.

Google makes Tilt Brush opensource. Google has just announced that the VR painting program Tilt Brush has been put opensource on GitHub. The bad news is that this means that Google has abandoned it. Google is becoming well-known for abandoning the interesting project it creates. This is both bad and good news.

Thanks to it, the XR2 Reference Design will feature as official hands tracking the one created by UltraLeap. Ultraleap has a very long expertise in hands tracking and hands UX and will for sure offer a great solution to all the standalone XR headsets that will stem from the XR2 reference design.
