Apple’s mixed reality (MR) headset has faced new setbacks after it dropped its exclusive assembly partner, Digitimes reported on Tuesday. Apple initially tasked Taiwanese firm Pegatron with assembling its upcoming MR headset, but has recently removed the company from its supply line, the report said.

According to the CMA: “Microsoft already enjoys a powerful position and head start over other competitors in cloud gaming and this deal would strengthen that advantage giving it the ability to undermine new and innovative competitors.” So I wonder if this suspension could also change Microsoft’s future plans concerning the M-word.

Regarding the glasses, I have not big hopes for true AR glasses, but I think that thanks to Facebook and Apple, finally we’ll have some important smartglasses entering the market , making the mainstream think about wearing something on their face to enjoy notifications from the phone. For sure the announcement at FC and the release date in 2021 have been studied to put some pressure on Apple , which seems to be the only rival to Facebook for what concerns the AR future. I don’t know if you are in business, but if you are and you have already done some marketing, you know that Facebook is the best marketing tool.
