This night I woke up at 3am to participate in HTC Vive’s event on ENGAGE because I read that it was an “HTC VIVE LAUNCH EVENT” and I was super-confident in the launch of the Cosmos XR or at least of the Cosmos Play. Some of these key players, like ENGAGE, are companies in which HTC already invests into.

Engage is a professional social VR application , very suitable to organize professional workshops and presentations. The company got more than $10M of investment over the years, including important support from HTC Vive, which uses its spaces to organize the virtual events to launch its XR hardware.

Speakers from goliaths like Amazon, Ford, and IKEA will rub shoulders with Vancouver up-and-comers including Motive.io and LNG Studios , each showcasing programs that put hardware like HTC Vive or Microsoft HoloLens through their paces. The VR/AR Global Summit is poised to bring together apps from different corners of the sector.

Furthermore, some of the workshops will be held remotely in livestreaming at predefined times. It was already rumored that Apple was using HTC devices for internal tests, and given that the HTC Vive is the only headset compatible with Mac, we all wonder if there is some kind of collaboration going on between the two companies.
