I’m pretty sure that Sony is waiting the next few months to make some moves, there’s still the Black Friday and the Christmas Holiday that have to happen, but at the moment I do not see this device as disruptive to our ecosystem.

I totally want them to care more about our privacy, and I’m all in with Avi Bar-Zeev in having better management of eye tracking data on the Quest Pro. That’s why its greatest bet is AR glasses that are coming from 2024 or 2026. I’m not a huge fan of Zuck, and I ‘ve always criticized Meta when needed.

Rumors earlier this year suggested Sony, the company responsible for making Apple’s OLED displays, can only produce up to 200,000 displays per quarter. Mark Gurman suggested the affordable alternative could be unveiled in 2025 or pushed back to 2026. The lights will also power Optic ID, Apple’s version of Face ID.

To summarize, these are its specifications: Qualcomm XR2 chipset 4K low-persistence 90 Hz Curved Display 3664 x 1920 resolution, 773 PPI 72Hz with support for 90Hz 98° FOV 6GB RAM (2133 Mhz) for the Pro model, 8GB for the Pro Eye Model 256GB storage Wi-Fi 6 connectivity USB-C 3.0 The expected FOV is around 70° but probably it won’t be met.
