The state of Minnesota has 20,000 bridges alone. Minnesota Department of Transportation needed to do something to redefine bridge inspections. Along came Microsoft Azure Remote Rendering, Microsoft HoloLens, digital twins, and drones to transform the way they inspect bridges.

You could also view them within 2D on a computer but to bring them to life in 3D changes the game. Microsoft has an example simulation where they use real time data thanks to IoT to show what happens live on a wind farm. One of the things that was not possible before the combination of the three, is simulations are brought to life.
