At Facebook Connect this week , Facebook has: Released the powerful Oculus Quest 2 , powered by Snapdragon XR2, and with a 4K display. What a time to be alive!

Some weeks ago, a group of 12 indie development studios decided to launch the first bundle dedicated to App Lab experiences for Oculus Quest. The user could buy the bundle and get access to sideloadable versions of the games, with the promise of a free key for when the game would have been approved by Oculus on App Lab.

I’m here to attend the WCVRI , a very big event about Virtual Reality in China, where I am exhibiting HitMotion: Reloaded , the mixed reality fitness game of my agency New Technology Walkers ( contact us if you need some VR development!). But it was delicious, so the “yes yes” strategy is paying off. This is not an easy task.

As we were all expecting (also thanks to the amazing speculations of the Best Buy guys on Reddit :D), Oculus has launched both the Oculus Quest and the Rift S during the keynote of the F8 event , that happened at 10AM PT. Oculus For Business.

Considering that Facebook is very smart also in leaking misleading info (as it has happened with the “Monterey” headset ), this can also be a move from Menlo Park to create hype for the upcoming Oculus Connect 6 and the AR glasses that will be teased there. I remember seeing the Oculus guys — Palmer Luckey and Nate Mitchell and Brendan (Iribe) over at one of their CES tables in the early years, well before they were acquired. And even the Oculus Quest is at $400, and they seem to be the $200 Oculus Go. Facebook is still investing in Oculus, obviously.
