Popular VR title Arizona Sunshine and two others are soon to get native support for the Virtuix Omni VR treadmill. Virtuix has also announced that the company has become a “formal hardware partner of HTC.” Arizona Sunshine [ our review ] is one of SteamVR’s top rated games, and soon it’ll be compatible with the Virtuix Omni , a VR treadmill which got its start after a successful 2013 Kickstarter.

Notes to My Father is one of the more special projects from the Oculus for Good Lab that I got a chance to see at SXSW. Set in the beautiful landscape of Southern India, this VR film is a moving story about love, trauma and reconciliation between a father and daughter. Centered around a sex trafficking survivor named Ramadevi, the VR film takes you into her traumatic world through a letter written for her father, who unintentionally played a role in her adolescence living in a brothel.

For immersive technologies like AR and VR to be effective, they need to understand not only about our world, but also about us. But we don’t even understand us all that well yet; as we capture more biometric information on our quest to lose ourselves in augmented and virtual realities, we’re learning more about ourselves too. Last month we wrote about a Disney Research project which used virtual reality to study human perception.
